I have never really been into yoga, it’s all
just lots of breathing and stretching in my mind, but when it’s open air, and
with this glorious view, it’s all a lot more manageable!

It's been a while!
It’s been a while since I was last here to
share my life updates, and to be honest, it’s because I normally write my posts
when I have a spare minute at work, and those have been pretty few and far
between recently. We’re expanding into a whole new region, a whole lot more
work has been earmarked with my name under the ‘new management’ and there are
plenty of extra curricular actives to be planned and arranged on the side too.
Phuket break |
Hens,
travel and local plans are all coming together nicely, so that’s one step in
the right direction. There has also been another trip out to Phuket to spend
time with Alex as he passes through, making the most of his gardening leave,
and he came to stay with us in Singapore for a bit too, which ate up pretty much
the rest of my free time.
Settling the newbies |
At work we have a
load of newbies from the UK, US and Canada, so I’ve been spending quite a few evenings
and weekends trying to make sure that they feel settled in Singapore and
checking that they know how the bank works and where to get phone contracts. They finally seem to be finding their feet now
though, so that’s a start.
With
most of the main distraction now out of the way I will be sure to try and up
the sharing again from now on. Roll on this week, this weekend and all the adventures
there are still to come!

Dubai Adventures
Another day, another trip to the airport,
but this time I am flying solo to Dubai to get ready for Erin’s amazing
beachfront wedding!
With
Nick unable to spare any holiday days so early in the year, I had a glorious
five day so of dedicated girls time stretching ahead of me, and we really did
make the most of it.
Drinks as the top of the tallest building in the world! |
Bride and bridesmaid lunch |
Along
with some final wedding prep bits and pieces, there was also ample time for
happy hours and dinners, brunches on the beach and on the day after the
wedding, a full day of sunshine recovery by the pool before I had to fly back
out to Singapore and real-life.
On
the first day (having landed at 4am on three hours sleep) I forced Alhannah,
Erin’s other bridesmaid and the only other person able to come out and play in
the desert with me. After a 7am pick up, we drove for around an hour to play in
the sand on quad bikes, camels, sand boards and four-wheel drives. It was great
fun!
Sunday recovery time by the pool |
This
was the first destination wedding that I have been to, and it was an utter
treat!

Erin & Naz tie the knot!
WHAT A FABULOUS DAY!
It
feels like it’s been in the planning for ages (even though it really hasn’t
been that long!) so the excitement really had built up by the time that it was
finally the big day for my darling Miss Laing to become Mrs Daniyel!
Wedding breakfast with mummy |
From
when Erin first arrived in Singapore fresh from her Dubai holiday, carrying her
giant rock along with her, right up to the last night of sleep in a shared room
with myself and Alhannah, Erin has been over the moon and so excited about
everything wedding related, and it really did show in the utterly beautiful day
that they laid on.
There
was a shockingly beautiful dress, amazing flowers, beautiful venues, endless
dancing, incredible food and just an amazing atmosphere!
What a beautiful day! |
It
was a cracking day from start to finish! Congratulations Mr & Mrs Daniyel!

Countdown to Dubai
I can’t believe that it’s already time! I
am flying out to Dubai TONIGHT! My lovely Erin is getting married out in the
Dubai sun this Saturday, and so we’re all grouping up and preparing with a
couple of days of fun before the big day.
I’ll
be staying with Erin and trying my best to be helpful, but we have a couple of
adventures booked in too (drinks at the top of the fancy tall building and a
morning desert safari) and with the girls all arriving in the next few days,
there will be a bit of time for mooching and hanging out before the big day
too.
I
can’t believe that Erin is getting married this weekend! It feels like just the
other day that she was in Singapore celebrating the engagement, and even less
time since she sent a little card and present asking me to be her maid of
honour. Roll on this weekend!
