That's Mrs Chairwoman to you!

It’s been a strange sort of week. Nick has been feeling unwell since we got back to Singapore, and so has been off work for the past two days, and he had to skip our dinner plans with Duncan (who has recently very sadly been left behind while his finance temporarily relocates back to the UK for a couple of months). Work has gone from slightly busy to utterly manic, and I have found myself having to start early and work way later than ought to be permitted (I’ve done worse, but that’s not the point!).
I was hoping that the crush of work was just a quick burst of post-holiday business, but it seems that things are about to get even more manic as I have now been moved from Vice Chair to Chair of our industry committee, and as such I am suddenly tasked with shaping all sorts of industry press releases and opinion pieces to be sent out to the industry.
When I was moving to Singapore half the excuse I made (because I could never bring myself to admit that I was moving purely for a boy) was that the industry here is so busy growing and developing to catch up with the US and UK, it would mean that I was perfectly placed to play a core role in the development and growth of the local regions rules, regulations and successes. This is a little more hands-on than I had really intended, but let’s just hope that it all pans out for the best and that I don’t muck anything up too spectacularly. Fingers crossed anyway.
Following our official handing over meeting (I attempted to exude professionalism throughout, obviously) I practically ran out the door to flag down a taxi to Holland Village where Nick and I were due to have dinner with Kev and Jules. The boys were off the alcohol, but enjoyed the Mexican food. Jules and I were less keen on the taco, but man those jugs of frozen margaritas were good!
