Today has been utterly hectic! Calls with
the US started from 6am, then I had to dash across Singapore to a client event
we were hosting at some offices on the other side of town. During the event we
basically spend four hours handing out and gathering business cards from
clients who had been tempted out to see us with the alluring smell of freshly
made sweet and savoury crepes.
Of course, we had
to try one or two, just to ensure that they were up to standard and as
delicious as required! It would have been rude not to, and it’s all in the name
of research to see whether we will be using the company again in the future of
course.
After a crepe
overdose I had to dash back to the office for a few more meetings before going
to host a lunch with clients at another office. From there the rest of the team
were going to be taking a group of 50 over to the river to run some Dragon Boat
Racing event for the rest of the afternoon.
Sadly, I had calls
and an early exit from the office planned as this weekend we will be flying
over to Kota Kinabalu, Borneo, as my birthday present to Nick. Initially I had
booked us into a fabulous hotel on one of the distant islands where there would
have been very little to do other than sleep, swim, sun, eat and kayak, but we
discovered last weekend that our friends boat is in the marina over there, so
instead of the expensive hotel we’re camping on-board in the marina for the
weekend.
I am not sure what
the weather is supposed to be like, or whether we will be doing much other than
lounging on the deck of the boat (either in the marina or at sea), but it
should be a lovely weekend in the sun, and I can’t wait! Hooray for the end of
the working week!
