Just last year our company was celebrating
being 200 people strong, so we had a pizza party and went out for drinks whilst
the US teams got a great big party to celebrate.
This
week, we are celebrating being 500 people strong, and as the US planned another
party, we thought it was time to push the boat out a little further for our
celebrations, and so we took a cheeky little half day yesterday, and we went on
an adventure!
Bang
on noon I told everyone to shut down their computers and get out of the office,
because we were going to spend the rest of the day playing at Universal Studios
on Sentosa. After a quick taxi ride over to the park we settled in for a dirty
lunch of cheapo burgers before spending the next six hours working our way
around all the best rides at the park.
Even though it was a Thursday, the place was rammed! There were queues for over an
hour and a half for some of the rides, but luckily we planned most of our day
well and only got stuck with a really bad queue for the final ride of the day.
There
were water rides, rollercoasters, movie screenings with interactive seating and
an amazing 4D transformers ride which, if we had time, I would happily have
gone on again and again!
Once
we had made the most of all the rides we could handle, we re-grouped and headed
back over to the mainland for a relaxed dinner at British style pub before calling it a day.
Our adventures are never quite on a par with the US team (they had a casino themed
evening which featured a lot of cocktails and wine), but ours was great fun for
our little team of seven, and it means that I get to tick Universal Studios off
my list without having to pay for it myself which can only be a good thing!
