There was quite a bit of build up to Kat’s
wedding over the past few weeks or so, and it was all entirely worth it! It was
one of the most beautiful, personal and amazingly organised celebrations that I
have ever been to. My only regret is that I didn’t manage to take more photos!
The
wedding took place at the local church in the village of East Meon, and the
ceremony was just beautiful, not least because there was some of the most
elaborate and beautifully coloured floral arrangements that you could imagine,
on every window sill and lining every pillar in the place. It looked glorious!
During the service
there was beautiful hymns, a number of fantastically chosen readings and one
particular reading that was just amazingly personal to the happy couple. Kat’s
pop up choir sang Taylor Swift throughout the signing of the register (genius)
and they worked through enough songs to give Kat the chance to join in towards
the end. You don’t often see a bride singing her heart out and shaking it
during the church service, and it was amazing!
Once
back at Nick’s parents house the rest of the day past in a lovely flurry of
bubbles, wine, great food, beautiful speeches, a quick rendition of Happy
Birthday for Nick’s mum who was quietly celebrating her 60th with
all her nearest and dearest, and really fantastic little details.
The
flowers in the marquee were spectacular, the food was delicious, the cake was
just insane (a pink and silver four tier stack with a line of fairy lights included!)
and the dance floor was heaving from the minute the band started, to the minute
the music was shut off.
It
couldn’t have been a more glorious day, and I am just so happy for Kat and
Harry! What a cracking way to kick-off their “happily every after”!
