The next two months are going to be insanely busy, and (with any luck)
are going to fly by, so as my last weekend in Singapore for a month, this
weekend was set up to be a nice quiet relaxing few days, and thankfully we managed
to stick to that plan, and also fit in a couple of gym sessions too!

Joyce is leaving
Singapore to move back to London. We thought that this was going t be a
permanent move, but thanks to a cheeky little deal that he signed off last
week, he’s actually just home for a long Christmas break and then he’ll be back
in the New Year. As we were suddenly not actually losing a friend it seemed a
little foolish to still move ahead with a farewell lunch for him, but as we
love any excuse to go to the Singapore Cricket Club for a couple of cheap
drinks and very reasonably priced lunch, we weren’t going to turn down the
invitation at the last minute.
Whilst we passed the
time waiting for a selection of very hung-over people to join us we made our
way through a glass of wine or two, and then once the group was assembled we headed
out to the sunny deck to enjoy the Rugby7s action that was happening just next
to us, and a lovely little snack lunch just for good measure too. It was very
low key for us, and as we left the boys to make their way over to the rugby pitches,
I couldn’t help but feel very smug about the fact that I was not heading out to
give myself a strong afternoon hangover.
After all, I had some
Halloween props to get to work on! Spider cookies and 'pumpkins' carved out of the only largish fruits that they had left in Cold Storage. Not quite the same, but they're good enough!
