I normally like to kick start each year
with a list of goals and targets that I want to achieve by the end of the year,
but for the past 5 years these have been strongly shaped by my 30-Before-30
List, which is still not yet complete, but that I hope to have time to finish
up before I hit the big 30 at the end of this May.
Getting married
this Christmas meant that I could tick number 25 off the list (I’ll be honest,
I swapped this out with a trip to Las Vegas when I found out there was going to
be wedding to plan – there’s only so much money that I have to spend here!),
which leaves me with five more challenges to complete before my birthday.
For a while I
thought that there was no chance in the world that I would be able to make this
work, but progress hasn’t really been as terrible as I had feared, so whilst
one final challenge might take some time to complete, I think I am going to be
able to get pretty close to the final goal. At least, I hope I am!
The last five
challenges are: keeping the blog alive until I turn 30 (so long as you excuse
the occasional cheat posts, this is working out ok so far), taking a photography
course to hopefully leave us with some slightly more artistic (worth keeping and
displaying) photos of our time in Asia, learning to play tennis, taking some
cooking classes with the locals (I am currently thinking of trying out Dim Sum,
but I might also look at local Thai food when we ware next over there in
February to ensure that I get at least one option ticked off) and to ride a hot
air balloon ride. The hot air balloon
might be where I get caught out, but we’ll just have to see how the next few
months pan out and whether I’m able to get to the end of the list. Fingers
crossed!
