On Christmas Day, having been up from 6am
baking pastries and arranging things for a full on day of Christmas fun, I
glanced at my phone for the first time at around 11am, and I saw that in
amongst all the messages of Christmas love there was a cheeky little missed
call from my Debbie. Christmas is always a day to be in touch with your nearest
and dearest, but a call on Christmas morning. This can mean only one thing.
Mrs Brown and the soon-to-be Mrs Black |
I stepped out into the freezing patch of our garden where 02 can actually handle
a full on mobile phone call without having a crisis and I quickly called back
my Debbie to hear all about the Christmas Day proposal that was laid out for
her in lights when she woke up that morning!
She’s
had the ultimate in whirlwind romances, and now not only is another one of my
glorious girls wondrously happy, but I get the genuine pleasure of being her
Maid of Honour (she said it was Matron of Honour now that I am a Mrs, but I am
not sure I have the motherly bosom to make that title work), and I get another
jolly back to the UK to celebrate in style with her this summer.
2016
is going to be another amazing year of celebrations and shenanigans, and I can’t
wait!
