I have absolutely nothing fun to report this week. The good behaviour
continues in a flurry of 6:30 wake up alarms (that Nick can impressively sleep
through) and an overload of salad and caffeine, taste and enjoyment free teas.
There’s been the odd Pilates
lesson, a lot of early morning encounters with gym equipment, four days of
shouting at the broken aircon in the super hot gym – all in all, it has been a
bit of a trying week. Don’t even get me started on the issues at work. It’s been pretty high stress.
On Tuesday night I was
excited to see Nick try and face his fears as we had planned a raw vegan dinner
at a local restaurant with his friend Scottie (who is a vegetarian purely for
woman-pulling purposes). During the day I received a lot of fearful message
asking whether raw vegan food would be enough for dinner, and whether it would
be ok to stop off at the kebab stand on the way home.
Sadly, at the very last
minute Scottie got called into a meeting with the US that was likely to run
through to about 9pm, so healthy dinner was cancelled and we somehow ended up
at a French restaurant eating steak instead…not sure how that happened.
Luckily, I had been on
good enough behaviour to eat a steak and half portion of chips without doing
too much damage to my good behaviour. Nick on the other hand celebrated the
lack of anything even remotely raw or vegan by ordering an extra large steak.
It was incredible, but definitely not in keeping with our good behaviour efforts.
Still, onwards and
upwards. There’s only a couple more days to get though and then we will be on
our way to Thailand. Eating well in a world of boys, beer and carb based
dinners is going to be tricky, but I’ll try my best!
