Sunday treats

Whilst I managed not to over run my daily foodie treats allowance (thanks to a morning swim and a fairly enthusiastic gym session just down the road) this Sunday did end up being a little bit naughty after all, despite my best intentions.
With Bastille Day forming the perfect excuse for a breakfast reminiscent of Sunday mornings at Grandad’s house, Nick arrived back from Kevs house just as I was getting back from the gym, and following a quick shower, we were soon sat out on the balcony enjoying a very leisurely French breakfast (with utterly delicious homemade marmalade that was brought all the way back from Nick’s mum’s kitchen).
The rest of our early afternoon passed in a gloriously sunny pool session, before we threw on clothes and headed over to Ash and Joyce’s flat, where roast beef and veggies were being laid on as a bit of a Sunday treat.
I had to pick around the edges slightly, and I didn’t manage to clear anywhere near as many roast potatoes or rounds of cheese as I would have liked, but the good intentions remain as a result, and I am going to be starting the new week in a better position than I was worried about!
