A very quiet weekend

Whilst I insisted on jamming as much fun and excitement into the Thursday day off as possible, this weekend was lined up as a fabulous relaxed few days, and I plan to keep it that way.

On Friday night, I rushed away from work fairly quickly at the end of the day to nip into Chinatown and grab a couple of bits and pieces to take home with me when we visit at the end of this month. I also picked up this fan which I am going to be carrying around with me for the shockingly hot days when I am stuck too far away from an industrial fan to be able to manage (some girls were rocking them at the polo when we went the other week and it just seemed like an incredibly good idea, and it’s probably the only time I will be able to get away with it without looking utterly ridiculous, so why the hell not?!
Once I had made it back to the flat and dropped off my selection of Chinese goodies, Nick and I just headed out to a local restaurant for some relative healthy pho noodles and to pick up a couple of bits and pieces (including a cold box for our picnic plans this Saturday).

Saturday day then passed in a fairly relaxed blur of napping, grabbing breakfast at the lovely Cups and Canvas just a few minutes away from our flat, followed by an hour or so lulling around the pool whilst we waited for our laundry to finish drying in the communal tumble driers and just generally wasting a bit of time.

Rather excitingly, I heard from both Karen and Debbie this weekend, both of whom mentioned that they are looking to come and visit, which is incredibly exciting! Karen has just got a new job, which means she’ll have pennies to visit, but probably not until much later in the year, whilst Debbie is looking to head over a lot sooner, which is incredibly exciting! Fingers crossed she can find some reasonably priced flights soon!!
