Broken fans

Now I’m not one to be melodramatic (much), but I nearly died from heat today.
I’ve been fairly pleased with my ability to adjust to the constant excessive heat so far, and I’ve worked really hard to acclimatise. As soon as I landed, I took steps to get used to the heat as much as possible by very rarely having the aircon on, walking to work to try and adjust as much as possible each morning, and sitting with the windows open to get as much hot air as I can bear, but for the past few days the heat in Singapore has reached heat wave status, and it’s starting to make me struggle.
Whilst walking Shakespeare at night was warm, playing golf in a stuffy driving range building when all the fans were broken was almost too much for me to bear. Even when the fans work it’s pretty toasty and I leave the lessons looking like a complete mess, but this week I almost had to call it a day early because it was beyond hot.
I really hope the weather breaks soon and if nothing else we get a bit of a breeze running through the city. They tell me that June is the hottest time of the year, but that we’re already close to the worst of it. Good God I hope we have an unexpectedly cold summer here.
