Having just about survived my golf lesson, and once I finally managed to
get a taxi to take me back to the flat, I had a 20-minute gap to shower and get
ready to leave the flat again. Thankfully, this time it was to take a taxi ride
to eat at one of my favourite places in Singapore.
PS Café, where I went
with Nick for our first little Singapore date night when I first arrived in
Singapore, is just lovely. The food is tasty European style offerings, the
service is amongst the best that I have experienced in Singapore, and the
setting is lovely. Nestled next to the Botanic Gardens, with huge windows
flooding with light (rather than the mall based restaurants that seem to
dominate the rest of the city), it’s a great spot for a lazy breakfast or lunch
over the weekend.
This Sunday we were meeting
with one of Nick’s friends, Nick, along with his wife Jing and their nearly
one-year old baby Kate (who was utterly adorable).
Having met at 12, we
spent a glorious three hours working our way through way too much food, some
delicious iced coffees and ridiculously sized slices of cake. Singapore has
been scoring hot this weekend, so spending a couple of hours tucked away in a
gloriously air-conditioned restaurant with a perfect view of lush green
surroundings was pretty much the perfect way to spend the hottest hours of the
day.
