Learning about cheese with Neals Yard |
Our Singapore buddy Harriet has been working for a very British
restaurant and café chain over here in Singapore for the last few months, called
Rabbit Carrot Gun. She joined then as a project manager and for the past few
months she’s been gearing up to open their new restaurant initiative in the
city called Nibbles on Nankin.
The restaurant
specialises in all the very best things like homemade meat pies, scotch eggs, sausage
rolls and beef wellington, so you can imagine our enthusiasm when we received
an invite to the official opening. Not only would we have a great excuse for
trying out all the treats they have on offer, but they had Neal’s Yard dairy
from London visiting too, along with a stash of their best cheeses, so it
sounded right up my street (although admittedly a bad second day dinner for
diet week)!
Healthy Tuesday night dinner... |
The event ran from 6:30
until about 9, it featured a selection of great food and wine, and the presentation
/ talk by Neal’s Yard was both interesting and very tasty. There were about ten other people there that we knew, so we spent a lovely few hours catching up with friends, scoffing very unhealthy dinner treats and enjoying some serious aircon in the boiling hot evening. All in all it was a
very delicious evening, and with Nankin Row just 10 minutes walking distance
from my office, it’s dangerous close for future visits.
Thankfully I am back on
good behaviour again today, but my gosh I am going to have to work out a reason
to visit there again in the very near future!
