The way Sunday should be

Our quiet Saturday went quickly out of the window this week, but happily we managed to keep a tight hold on Sunday. Having woken up surprisingly early for a Sunday, Mrs Doubtfire was on the TV while we bustled around the flat finishing up laundry and cleaning the place from top to toe.
Then we headed out to Oxwell & Co, where they have been offering a Sunday roast for the past two weeks, and which I was keen to try out in my bid to find a place that will serve me proper gravy, good roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. This was the ultimate success story, and whilst we ended the lunch with no space left for an apple tart, it was a truly British roast, and the perfect meal for our cosy, quiet day.
After lunch we made our way home via the supermarket where we gathered fruit and veggies (and accidentally bought a coffee espresso machine that was in the sale – this is what happens when Nick comes food shopping with me) and then we were done for the day.
The rest of our Sunday was filled with The Great British Bake Off, Skyping with home, drinking coffee from our magical new machine and having just one glass of red to round off the weekend and set us up for the good behaviour that will start in the gym at 6:30 tomorrow morning!
