Considering yesterday was a bit of a right
off in my world, today has been super-productive! It's been a day of ticking things off lists, which has to be one of my very favourite things!
After my fairly early bedtime
last night, I was awake at around 6:30 this morning, and ready to get out of
the house (in a much better mood), so I made my way down to the gym where I
normally only go for classes, but this morning decided to take advantage of
their constant (and much more efficient than the gym at our flat) air-condition.

Sure, I was a little early, but there was not a single other person at the gym with me! |
From here, I spent
the next hour and a half power walking my way back into something like my old
marathon training routine. By the end of the 90 minutes I was a stinking,
sweaty mess, even with the aircon on, but I felt better about life, and almost
a little smug, so it was totally worth it as I walked (sticky and gross) into
my Pilates class for another little hour of rather smelly activity. Thankfully I had finished up my walking a little bit early, so I got to take advantage of a brief five minute cool down and rest in a sunny spot of the studio.
Ready for some serious (sweaty) streches |
Gym done I headed
home for a quick shower, a Skype with Catherine and the wee one, and then we
had to be out of the door and down to Artichoke for a nice little lunch with
Kev and Jules where I spent two hours chugging water to try and replace at
least a portion of the liquids lost at the gym that morning. I also had a delicious mushroom, avocado and halloumi cheese breakfast which is not something I would normally love (mushrooms are not really top of my delicious list), but it was absolutely incredible, as everything at Artichoke always is! Somehow I couldn't actually finish all of it, but I devoured as much as possible, whilst watching the boys work through an impressive portion of the menu options.
Lovely lunch consumed,
next up was the beauty parlour near our flat where I go to get my nails done.
It’s fairly no-frills, but I always have the same girl, the price is good and
they have a great range of colours! Based on Nick’s instruction, this time I
had shades of blue for both my hands and feet, and after managing not to kick
the girl in the face during my foot scrub, I emerged feeling rested and
incredibly productive. The boys had spent the last few hours at the arcade, shooting things and having street fights apparently, so I returned home to a happy Nick and a great big cup of tea. Ready to make a plan about what to do with the rest of the day.

Blue nails that compliment my sparkler perfectly! |
Sometimes Saturdays can be filled with nothing much, but
today I feel like I have ticked a lot off the list, and I managed to do some
proper exercise too, which is a bit of a double whammy!
