Flash moved to Hong Kong at the start of
the year, but he was back in town this weekend, and so we have a weekend of
drinking and eating lined up, with all our plans featuring him heavily.
First
up was Friday night dinner. A group of 12 of us (two girls and ten boys) made
our way to our favourite Indian restaurant Mustard, for a 9:30 reservation. It
was incredibly late for dinner, but with Flash coming to join us straight fro
the airport that was the earliest we could do it.
There
followed a dinner with an awful lot of drinks, before the group jumped into
taxis and made our way into Club Street, where the boys have a bar of choice
(that I hate) where they wanted to spend the rest of their evening.
At
around 1am Nick and I decided that it was time to head home, and so we made out
escape and headed for a taxi while the rest of them continued to welcome Flash
back to town.
Following
a slightly hazy start to Saturday Nick and I spent the rest of the day
preparing food and our flat for dinner with Flash, Liv, Cheall and Joyce. On
the menu was steak, wine and a lot of drinks, because that’s how Nick believes
you do a proper dinner party. It was a great night, but with Liv providing a choice of two puddings, and an entire cheese course there is no way that I maintained even an ounce of good behaviour over the past 24 hours.
By
Sunday night (after a 4am finish – I have no idea how) I really had over done
it. My day was spent cleaning, doing laundry and rehydrating. It was fine, but
I think it’s fair to say that I am back off the booze again for a while now. Nothing
I did this weekend helped the wedding dress diet efforts, but it was good to
have Flash back in town, for two nights only! I won't get on the scales again for a few days I don't think. Maybe by midweek I will be feeling brave enough...
