Cheating again…!

Following one hell of a food and drink hangover last week I have been on some seriously good behaviour this week. I have been to the gym / pool / treadmill twice a day for the past three days, and I have been chugging water like no-ones business to try and limit the impact of last week. With no major plans this weekend, I am hoping that I can carry this through and keep up the good work for a longer stint again.
For the past few weeks my weight has settled and refused to shift, regardless of increased gym efforts. Whilst this might make sense recently following a good few rule breaks, it was starting to get a bit disappointing as for the most part I am putting in a lot of effort to make sure that my big white dress will fit when I go back to the UK in July. This slowing down of results goes some way to explain my very poor efforts and weak restraint last week - a dip in results always seriously impacts my enthusiasm.
However, after a few days back on good behaviour for some reason when I stepped on the scales this morning the needle has started to dip back in the right direction again. Someone told me that you need to shock your body with naughty foods every now and again to kick start weight loss when you start to see it slow up, and I have to say, if anything was going to provide that sort of shock, my efforts last weekend would do it!

This piece of news is what I am clinging to this evening. I have had a lunch booked in with a client for the past few months, and it was made very clear to me when we made the initial plan to meet up that the lunch would involve wine and steak. I knew what was coming, and I have cancelled and avoided a number of plans this week to ensure I would be able to make the most of it. So the one big shock that I gave my body this week was wine for lunch, and a plate of steak and chips big enough to scare even a very butch man! It was delicious and amazing, and a great way to spend my Thursday afternoon (we dragged it out for a good few hours).
To make up for it I avoided a work dinner and extended my usual time on the machines at the gym, but it was 100% worth it. I mean, look at the beauty of that plate full of amazingness!
