Mini-honeymoon booked

I am so ridiculously excited! Because we’re getting married really close to Christmas, the idea of going on our honeymoon straight after the wedding never even crossed our minds. Christmas is family time, so there is only one place that I plan to be for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and my daddy’s birthday a few days before.
As such, our honeymoon will probably be in the States, involving a trip to see my sister and a bit of a road trip around the California /Nevada region, with a lot of eating, drinking and driving involved. That said, with the wedding on the 20th December, this does leave us with one day or two nights to spare before Christmas plans really start to kick off, so Nick has spent the last few days picking through some options for where to spend the time between the wedding and Dad’s birthday, and he has just booked the most amazing sounding option I can imagine!
After a night spent close to the wedding venue, and a lunch with whoever makes it through the hangover and gets to the pub for food, we will be jumping in a taxi and making our way to Hotel du Vin in Brighton for two nights of absolute luxury. Not only is it close enough to home for the taxi ride to be a nice, easy hour long trip, maximum, it's also by the seaside, and in the winter it will be glorious, and cold and miserable. My favourite sort of weather for hibernating for a few days recovery!

Specialising in steak, wine and amazing British food, and nestled right next to the weather beaten beach, we’re planning two nights and a day and a half of complete relaxation. There will afternoon teas, amazing meals, endless wine, classes with the hotel sommelier, and our hotel room (which also has it’s own balcony) comes complete with two roll tops baths that look straight out over the sea.
Pure, unadulterated luxury, and it’s now officially booked for Mr and Mrs Brown!
