A long, super-productive weekend

It’s a public holiday today, which means that Nick got up and left me at the crack of dawn on the first day of a three day weekend. This would be fine if the rest of Singapore hadn’t emptied out too. The majority of my Singapore friends have headed to Phuket to make the most of the extra day off at the birthday celebrations of one of my lesser-favourite people out here.
Having rejected the offer to attend this drunken weekend in Thailand, and with everyone else either heading back to the UK or at work for the weekend, I knew that I was going to have to be super productive to get through the three days without either going mental or having to resort to the big guns (aka Happy Crumble).

To ensure that I get to the end of each day fairly happy with my productivity levels, the To Do list for this weekend is relatively simple:
1 – read some of the mountain of books that I have been gathering since starting the Top 100 list, which has dictated my reading choices for the past few years
2 – eat only very healthy things, drink only very boring drinks (and tea) and be generally very well behaved
3 – go to the gym. A lot.

Book number one, in bed with tea early on Friday morning

It’s now Saturday evening, I am in the flat with a giant mug of tea on the go, Tintin on the TV, and plans to hit the sack incredibly soon. Having started Friday with one book and a lot of very dull food, I have now proceeded book two and a lot more veggies, and am on to book three, which hopefully I will be able to complete tomorrow.

Book number two alongside Saturday brunch

For both Friday and Saturday the gym hours have been between 2-3 hours per day, which is a good start, the flat has been cleaned from head to toe, everything that can be laundered has been, and I have even been out shopping, I nipped out for a healthy lunch and have had time to catch up on a bit of work.
I’ve done pretty well on my list of good intentions so far, so let’s see how long  can keep them full ramped up for. I'm already thinking about those hot cross buns that we have hidden away in the freezer.
