Rae modelling a very cute Singaporean outfit! |
I’ve been
to Reno so many times now that it no longer really feels like a holiday or an
adventure, it’s more like a quick trip home (I suppose it’s my home from home
from home now that I’m living in Singapore).
The general plan for the weekend was
to play with the baby, the dog, the horse and to drink wine on the Reno River Wine
Walk. It was low on stress levels and high on relaxation and down time. It was
a perfect weekend, and just what I needed.
For the most part, we spent our time eating, drinking and playing, but the Reno River Wine Walk was a fun way to spend the Saturday afternoon. Whilst the boys watched sports and looked after babies, Catherine, Mandi and I made our way into town to the start of the tour. Around 30 different bars and shops in downtown Reno opened their doors for the event in an attempt to encourage you into their stores to have a look around and hopefully shop.
Depending on where you choose as your first port of call, you receive a different style of home decorated glasses that you then use on the full tour - having paid an initial $20 you then take your glass, map of the route and a stamp card around to each of the participating locations, receiving a stamp from each and they serve you a taster of wine from their selections. Some of the glasses that we saw were really bad (I could have done better, and I really can't paint for my life), but luckily we had good advice on a the best starting place and we made our way around the rest of the bars with beautiful flower / bee themed glasses from a florist with a lot of artistic flare.
