Thank goodness for silver linings

The worst thing about this full two weeks of training occurred on Friday morning at 9am. After a week of learning about how the sales teams pitch when they go out to meet clients, I had to live through the nightmare of presenting the sales pitch to a selection of the senior management. So stressful!
My approach to work is a lot more laidback than the American interpretation, and seeing as I have never had a proper sales job in my life, you can probably imagine how stressful it was to stand up in front of three senior execs to tell them all about the product that they have created from scratch and that they have been selling for years. Ergh, absolute nightmare!
Thankfully that whole palaver is finally over, and having had a nice lunch in the sunshine I was able to cut the afternoon slightly short at 5pm, heading off for the Bart to SFO airport, ready for a much more relaxing weekend with the family.
There were no plans, no stress, and would be no meeting of people that I hadn’t met that I had to be nice to for extended periods of time. I can’t wait. Sadly, I did have about an hour to spare at the airport before my flight was due to board – fortunately, I located an incredible / disgusting grilled cheese sandwich to keep me entertained. Just about to board, and I am feeling slightly cheese-sick!
