It’s been
hard to find the time to talk to people back at home since I’ve been over here –
by the time I have finished work and made my way home most people are at work
and too busy to chat, so it’s fallen to my slightly packed weekends to try and
get in touch with home.
Having spoken with Tanya and Eileen
last week while they were taking a break from work at lunchtime, this weekend I
finally managed to get in touch with a few more people.
I spoke to a post-birthday
celebration Erin on Saturday evening, and then on Sunday managed to get hold of
Lizzy who was speaking to me from her gorgeous library in her very grown up new
house, my brother and Katya who where running around the house after Charlie as
he showed me all his fun toys and hiding places whilst scoffing a pre-lunch
biscuit, and there was even time for a quick chat with mum and dad too.
Sadly, following the flood at the
cute little cottage in Emsworth, mum and dad are relying on a fairly patchy
internet connection that hasn’t yet been replaced, so our conversation was very
brief, with some serious time delays and very patch sound and image quality,
but hopefully in the next few weeks they will be back up and running with a
better connection and I will be able to speak to them properly and show them
around the flat.
It was lovely to speak to home, to
see how everyone is getting on, and to catch up on all the local news. It’s
always good to be kept in the loop!
