Another belated birthday celebration

A few weeks ago Nick cashed in on one of his birthday presents and we went to Balzac for a very lovely dinner, meaning that he had a trip to the horse races, a boat journey and a breakfast in bed still to turn in to complete his birthday celebrations.
With no plans for Saturday other than to do nothing at all in preparation for a big day out on Sunday, this weekend Nick decided that breakfast in bed would suit him down to the ground.
As such, on Friday I was presented with his completed order form, requesting all the essentials – extra crispy bacon, American pancakes, orange juice, chocolate milk and a coffee.
I failed to buy a whisk on my way home from work, which means the pancakes were a little bit flatter than they ought to have been, but otherwise it call came together quite nicely.

Even better, as a storm raged outside for some reason Nick had decided that he needed to watch Singing in the Rain (one of my favourites) so we got to watch that whilst laying in bed enjoying pancakes and bacon.  It was an ideal start to the weekend!
