Charlie and Steve come to play

They were only here from 7:30am on Friday morning until 8am on Sunday, but for the two days that Charlie and Steve were playing in Singapore at the start of their holiday, we had a great time!

Post Chinatown lunch at Raffles

I took Friday off work to meet them at the airport and then spent the day introducing them to as much of Singapore as I could – we went to Chinatown, we had coffee at a shop house, drinks on Boat Quay were our build up to lunch in the courtyard of Raffles before we popped up to The Long Bar for a classic Singapore Sling.

Singapore Slings - because you just have to when you're here!

Hot and sticky we then headed back to the flat for a swim, shower and change before grabbing a cab to meet Nick at the marina as he finished work. Then it was on to the spicy Chinese (we don’t know the real name) at the top of the UOB tower for the best Chinese food in town, and then drinks at the top of the tallest alfresco bar in Asia, taking in the sights and dancing to the increasingly loud music. It was a big day and a late night out for people who arrived first thing in the morning having had very little sleep, but they powered on through, and it was a very good day of Singapore sight seeing!

Chinese dinner Tea Ninja

Saturday was a bit more of a relaxed affair, as it very much needed to be. Charlie and I woke up early and headed out to breakfast while the boys slept. We picked them up breakfast treats on our way home and then spent around 2 hours luring them out of bed and into clothes ready to start the day.
Lunch was over on Sentosa by the beach, followed by drinks on the boat building at Ku De Ta, then happy hour at the Swisshotel before heading into Little India for a really great curry at Mustard (a place I have had my eye on for some time, and that was absolutely delicious!).

Drinks with a view

Then all of a sudden it was 8am on Sunday morning, and I was flagging them down a taxi and sending them back off to the airport. It was a flying visit, and one that we spent so much time getting everything crammed in and seeing it all that I worry it was a bit hectic for our guests. Still, we had a brilliant time, and hopefully it will be enough to tempt them out for another visit at the start of their next exciting adventure to Asia!
