Nothing but torture weapons, as far as the eye can see! |
When I said I was back on good behaviour, I really did mean it this
time. Monday involved a gym session and a post work swim, and Tuesday started
in the same way, and then was topped off with an hour long personal training session
in the gym after work.
This was the first time
that I have actually been into the gym that I joined up to online, and it’s
massive! There are two floors, so big that you can’t physically see to the
other side of the room. The studios where the classes take place can probably
fit around 50 people, all jiggling around at the same time, and the number of
machines they have (all looking like instruments of torture) are just insane.
When I first walked in
it was actually a little bit intimidating, but once I had located the changing
rooms and worked out why only ten of the lockers have locks on (apparently people
here like to bring their own padlocks to the gym…no idea why!) I went to locate
the man that was to put me through a full hour of torture.
It was half great, and
half vile. I’ve only been a full member of a gym once, and that was during the
university years, and I attended it once. This time I’m determined to use it a
lot more, and so I followed the chap around, playing on every machine. He said
the first session was a fitness test, so he would get me to use a machine, and
keep on using it until I was either shaking or physically incapable of doing
another action. It was great fun…
Once it was all over
and I managed to get away from the high pressure sales chat (of course I don’t
want to go through that nightmare two times a week from the next 20 weeks,
although I was a little tempted) I struggled home, to a cup of tea and tuna on
toast for dinner. It wasn’t the most exciting Tuesday night, but it was needed
and very productive, so I guess that counts for something – although I am
walking like a cowboy this morning. Hot stuff!
