The fourth and final day of our long
weekend, and we had very little to fill our time with. Having had three days of
mooching but trying to be productive, but the fourth day there didn’t really
feel like there was that much more to be done.
I
started my day with a quick session in the gym and a 20 minute swim before
heading back up to the flat to slowly wake up Nick and make a plan for the rest
of our day.
We
ended up popping out for a lunch of Pho (I had been craving it all weekend),
before picking up a couple of bits of shopping that Nick had his mind set on,
and then a wandering around the National Museum of Singapore.
Beautiful entrance to the National Museum of Singapore |
I
have been to the National Museum a number of times as it’s such an easy walking
distance from our flat, but they have regularly changing guest exhibits and
there was a great one running through the 700 years of Singapore history, so we
spent a good few hours working our way around that and finding out a lot more about
the history of the region before the Japanese and English got involved, which
you don’t often hear about all that much.
Other
than our few hours out and about, the rest of our day was very relaxed, with a
healthy chicken salad for dinner. One thing I did do was update the wedding countdown blackboard that Debbie gave us as an engagement present. I've been updating it once a week since we got back and I can't believe that we've already gone from 355 to 301 days! The year is speeding by already, and I am sure that the slightly more urgent countdown will be with us well before we're expecting it!
The countdown is on! |
We’re now fully ready to face the next few
full length weeks following a very, very relaxed four day weekend at home.
