Dinner with the locals

This week we have a number of work events taking place, and as a result the nearest member of our marketing team (who is based in Sydney) has come into town to help us ensure that everything we do, present and create is 100% perfectly marketed.
Not only does this mean that we get to tick a new place off my list of places to try out, it also means that we get to expense the cost of it!
Last night we therefore made our way over to Satay By The Bay, a local hawker centre, an open air structure with small booths each specialising in one particular type of food. It’s a great chance to wander around and try a selection of dishes without being tied to the menu choices of just one booth.

Safe dinner options for us

Myself and Danni made the first round of choices, and being English and Australian respectively, we returned to the table with veggies, rice, fish and satay. We like to think that it was a great selection of delicious treats, all of which were very safe for our slightly fearful taste buds.
The boys then went on a rampage and returned with bowls full of fish heads, entire frogs stewed in porridge and pig organ soups. It’s fair to say that we were less excited about trying out those offerings, but it was fun to watch them devour them. Whilst it might be weak, I’ve never been so grateful for vegetarian options!
