Having spent a day out enjoying the sunshine, this evening we had nice
chilled dinner plans for a nice night in with one of Nick’s clients.
Whenever we go out for
dinner at people’s houses in Singapore it normally involves way too many
bottles of wine, and often ends in the early hours of the morning with the
promise of a sore head the next day. This time was delightfully different.
Phil and Nathalie have
two young sons, so dinner was set to be nice and early so that we would have
time to see the kids before they went to bed. As is appropriate at Easter, we arrived on
their doorstep armed with a bottle of red wine and two Easter eggs, subtly
disguised to avoid a late night chocolate feast while we were there. We were inevitably
therefore welcomed with open arms!
The evening was lovely.
We had a nosey around their beautiful and incredibly spacious flat before
sitting down to a delicious Italian themed dinner, followed by a thankfully
fairly competitive-free dice rolling game. I can’t remember the name of it, but
it was fun, and a nice little distraction while we made our way through a delicious
cheeseboard.
By 11pm we were ready
to head home, and so we ended the night at an incredible respectable hour, rounding
off a lovely Singapore day.
