Another weekend, another brunch. The number of big brunches that we have
gone to has started to get a bit ridiculous recently, so I’ve informed Nick
that once the approaching “Super Brunch” is out of the way, I will be
boycotting brunches for the rest of the year. There is just no possible way
that you can maintain good behaviour or even good intentions when you have an
all you can eat, all you can drink brunch on the horizon.
Luckily, the reason for
this particular brunch was too good to miss, so this was the last one that I
would allow to slip through the net.
Not only was this
Sunday Kate’s birthday, but it was also the official leaving party for Kate and
Duncan before they head off to Hong Kong at the end of the month, and it was
the last chance I would get to see Sita before she returns to India (having
missed her leaving drinks while I was sick last weekend).
They opted for one of
the Sentosa brunches which means we had a lovely view of the sea while we ate,
peacocks would come wandering up to us whilst we sipped champagne, and when the
brunch was over we were only five minutes walking distance from the beach and
the Tanjong Beach Club, where beds by the pool had been booked out and Nick’s
uncle Andy was settled for the day as he passes through town for work again.
It was a lovely day,
but one that was tinged with sadness as it means that we will be losing three
very good friends dangerously soon! Thankfully there was at least enough
bubbles to mark the occasion properly!
