Despite the very questionable health levels in our flat, we’ve had a
guest staying with us for the past two nights. Either he’s currently flying
home with the flu brewing in his chest or he’s made out of a lot strong stuff
than myself and Nick – I don't know how he’s survived in one, cough-free piece!
As Stubo lives in
Thailand and has recently changed jobs to be self-employed he has to do a visa
run to another country once every three months, and as Singapore is an hour and
half and about fifty pounds away, we get to play host when he comes to visit!
Normally this is the
perfect time to Nick to go into hosting overdrive, making amazing dinner plans
and lining up plenty of adventure for the two nights that Stubo has to stay
over while the Visa is processed. Last time there was Chinese restaurants, bars and pubs galore! Not so
much this time around.
Instead of string of
adventures and big nights out, Stu was welcomed to a flat full of tissues and
empty medicine packets, vaguely managed by two very dopy and slightly snuffly people. We managed to make it out of the flat long enough to
take him for Vietnamese food on Monday night, and curry in Little India will
Kev on Tuesday (actually, that place was great fun!) but other than that, he
was welcome to a fairly low-key house of illness.
I am not too sure he’ll be
coming back to see us again in a hurry sadly. At least he seemed to be fit and
well when he left us today…we’ll see if that lasts!
